2009 British Hanoverian Horse Society Annual Show
This was a very successful show for the Hawtins Stud. Hawtins Fiorenza, a four year old mare by French Kiss out of St.Pr.St. Worlds Finest, successfully completed her mare performance test with scores that made her eligible for Elite Candidate status. Then in the showing classes, she won the four and five year old class and was awarded a 1A prize to complete her qualification as an Elite Candidate. She then went on to win the mare championship.
Fiorenza’s three year old half sister, Hawtins Floriana, by Florestan out of St.Pr.St. Worlds Finest, was second to the amazing Farouche (owned and bred by Lynne Crowden) in the three year old class where she also was awarded the 1A prize.
Floriana was then pulled in as reserve Youngstock Champion.
The dam of Fiorenza and Floriana won her age class. At 16 years of age and having had a number of foals, she still looks amazing.
This trio then went on to contest the family class which they won. This is a class for a mother and two daughters or mother, daughter and granddaughter.
The two foals that went to the show also performed really well. Hawtins Horatio, a colt foal by Hotline out of St.Pr.St. Worlds Finest, was third in the colt foal championship class.
Hawtins Sofia, a filly foal by San Amour out of Cardinal Virtue, was second in the filly foal championship.
Lyon, a five year old gelding by Laureus, owned by Anne Mary Sutton and ridden by her fifteen year old daughter Emma, won the 2009 Preliminary Regional Championships at Addington and then went on to finish second at the National Championships. Lyon came from Germany and was produced by Hawtins Stud before Emma took up the reins.
Wurlizer, by Weltmeyer out of St.Pr.St. Brentina, owned by Sarah Oppenheimer and ridden by Alice Oppenheimer qualified for several classes at the 2009 Winter championships. Wulizer won the Free Style Advanced Medium class and was third in the Free Style PSG. Alice and Wurlizer were also selected for the 2009 Junior European Championships. In 2008 at the National Championships, Wurlizer became Advanced Medium Restricted champions.
Hawtins Lalique, by Londonderry out of St.Pr.St. Worlds Finest, owned and ridden by Marian Green has added jumping to her dressage talent and has taken to BE eventing. Lalique, or Lily as she is known, is a winner of one of 12 Event Horse Owners Association training awards which allowed them to have special training with some top event trainers. Lily is consistently placed in BE90 classes, winning her section at Winkburn BE Horse Trials and finishing on her dressage score of 31. She is now competing at BE100 and has not had a show jump down all season at any level. Comments from Dressage Judges include " Lovely quality horse " with " big paces and superb canter ".
